Landing on the Moon

On a hot sunny day I went to the moon but first I had to learn how to be an Astronaut . When I was trained to be a good Astronaut I was on my way. Then we hoped inside the space ship I was kind of scared . After we got ready for take off in 3 , 2 , 1 , Blast off . I listened to the loud roar coming from the space ships rockets.

It took us 8 months to get to the Moon but when we got there I was super excited . On the moon I saw lots of of craters . Then it was time for everyone to get off the ship and walk on the moon . We had to put our space helmets on so we can breath the air coming from our air bag on our
back . Walking on the moon is harder then walking on earth because you have to jump .

It was was time to board the ship and go home. When we were waiting to get home we looked through the window and saw lots of planets like Mars , Uranus , Neptune , Venus , Saturn , Mercury and Pluto . Everyone saw Earth and were excited about landing .When we landed I was releafed because I thought we were gonna crash.

We all got out of the ship unharmed no one was lost and everyone was safe . Finally we took our suits off because it was hot and swety .We had to put the suits in a basket to be washed. Then everyone celebrated.

We celebrated until Night time .After a while we started the award ceremony and got our awards.
Everyone that went to the moon was happy. Finally everyone went home .

One Tree Hill

Earlier this week we went to Stardome for a field trip. While we were there we decided to go for a walk up One Tree Hill.

While we were walking up the mountain we saw lots of sheep manure. We saw two sheep down a hill from where we were walking. It was time to cross the road, but Mr Marks said “wait”, because there was a car coming. When the car finally passed us Mr Marks said “cross fast and stay at the second tree”.

We started running down the crater, but unfortunately Lorenzo fell down the hill and hit his head on a piece of wood and landed on the grass. I nearly fell down the hill, but I just ran all the way down.

My Favourite thing this Term

My favourite thing this term was doing Badminton. I liked Badminton because I didn't know it was a sport and I like racket and batting games like Tennis tabel tennis baseball and criket. Everyone in my class liked badminton to because it was fun.

Then Aussie Rules and thats my secound favourite sport because I already knew about that sport. It is fun like Badminton but is different to badminton. Instead of hitting the ball with a racket you kick the ball with your foot hit it with your hand.

That is all the sports that we done this term and we did one sport in term two called Basketball. I liked basketball the best but that was in term two not term three. I had fun this term with all the sports we have been doing. I liked term three and now I wonder what term four will be like

Howard Aussie Rules

The umpire was getting readThe umpire was getting ready to throw the ball in the air. At the same time I was getting ready to jump for it. We have been learning the new skills required to play Aussie Rules.

To play this game you have to have an Aussie rules ball. It looks like a rugby ball, but with stitches on one side and none on the other.

One of the skills we have learnt so far is the tip off. That is when the umpire throws the ball in the air and you have tap it to your partner at the back of you. It is unpredictable for you to know if you are going to get the ball.

My favourite bit of Aussie Rules is getting to know the people who teach us how to play, but most of all it is just having fun doing it.y to throw the ball in the air. At the same time I was getting ready to jump for it. We have been learning the new skills required to play Aussie Rules.

Howard Mesmerising

Its only a short hop skip and jump across the Tasman Sea to Australia, but there is a world of different in what you will find there.

Australia is a multi cultural country like New Zealand but the indigenous people don’t speak Te Reo Maori they speak Aborigine. Aborigine is the Australian language that come from the first people to live there.

The native animals of Australia are Kangaroo, Koala , and Platypus which only live in Australia.
Australians do not like crocodiles because they could get bitten, be killed, or be eaten.

Australia’s climate is predominantly arid hot and dry, but Australia is not the hottest country. The desert in Australia is different to the coastline in Australia, because one is hot and one is warm and muggy.

So if you are fortunate enough to make the journey, you will need to allow plenty of explore all that Australia has to offer.

Badminton

Badminton this term was really fun and good practice for some of us who have just started. I only just found out that Badminton was a sport and I never knew how to play it. When I started playing I felt that I was good at it.

Every week I was learning new skills and strategies and was becoming better every time I played. Sometimes hitting the shuttle around was not easy, so every time I did hit the shuttle I felt good.

At the end of every session we had to aim for the bin and try to hit the shuttle in. In Badminton you have to concentrate really hard so you get it right. If you don't get it right its ok just try again.

In the 3rd session we had a different tutor who was younger than the other one. Our normal instructor was away because she was playing in a masters tournament. She won a silver medal and brought it in to show us in the last Badminton session.

On the last week of badminton we were all excited when we saw the nets because we wanted to test ourselves and see if we were a better player against another player. Now Badminton is one of my favourite sports thanks to this school who provided it for us. Everyone was happy to know that Badminton was finished and excited to know what the next sport

Auckland Snows

The snow fell in Auckland City yesterday on the 15 of August. Cars were stuck on roads and people were cold in there beds and could not get out of the house. Some people were surprised at the weather because it hasn’t snowed in Auckland for a very long time. Lots of people have never seen or touched snow before. In the snow people like to make snow angles. ell in Auckland City yesterday on the 15 of August. Cars were stuck on roads and people were cold in there beds and could not get out of the house. Swimming at Pt England School

You can see what we have been doing at the ymca swimming pools in Glen Innes .Room 15 and 17 walked to the pools together because we go to the pools with them.I swim in the big pool because I'm kind of good at it. There is a medium pool and some of those guys a better then me at swimming.

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Every day Room 15 walks to the pools called Y. M. C. A. I was looking forward to swimming because I haven’t been swimming in a long time. When we were going to the pools I found out that we were going swimming with room 17. I was excited. Then we all walk inside the pools and smelt chlorine. When everyone got in the pools there was one big pool and one medium pool. I was in the big pool with Animei and Minhaj. I was very slow but I kept trying then I got faster and faster. Then it was time to get out. I quickly got dressed and walked out of the pools to wait with the others. I like the pools because it helps me to swim and keep safe. Then off we all walked back to school safe and sound. After all that I felt like going to sleep but I didn’t because it was school time.

Auckland Tornado 2011

On Tuesday Auckland had a tornado that destroyed most of North Shore. The Tornado ripped off roof tops, broke trampolines, and even killed two people. One man got thrown 20 metres up in the air by the tornado.

The best thing to do to survive a tornado is to get under a table and hold on. I Thought the tornado was coming to East Auckland. If it did i would feel very very scared because it might come near my house and crush me, or throw me in the air like it had all ready done to the man on the North shore. I couldn’t believe that there was a tornado in Auckland.

Baseball Training

In Baseball when you hit the ball you need to focus.
Cola teaches us how to play baseball.
Room 15 plays against each other on the bottom field with Cola.
When it’s my turn to bat I get nervous because I don’t know if I’ll hit the ball or not.
When someone hit the ball with the bat and runs through three bases and then runs on home base, this is called a home run.

Holiday Highlight

In the holidays my favourite thing was jumping off the cliff at Bethell’s beach landing in the water. When I went to Mangere to go to my aunties house I saw my uncle Eddy in his car.
So I went to West Auckland to go to my uncle Eddy’s house.
After that I felt like I was going to fall asleep. Then I slept at his house and watched movies.
