This book is about a boy named Zac Power ( Agent Rockstar) that works for a secret agency called GIB which stands for Government, Investigation, Bureau. Fiafia 2013 Unicycle

Every week on Thursdays and Fridays Pt England School has Fiafia practice. I'm in the Unicycling group with our tutor Miss Rapold. There are many different cultured groups like the Samoan , Tongan, Cook Island, Niue, and even Hawaii.

When I started unicycling I completely sucked, but now I'm able to ride around the whole school without falling. I thought I was never going learn , but our tutor is really good at teaching us new tricks like how to hop and how to free mount.

Miss Rapold has a tall 6 ft unicycle. The only people that can ride it is Miss Rapold obviously ,Isara and Levi. I can't ride it because I don't have enough balance to ride something that high.

There are seven people in my group and there names are Isara, Texas,Anthony, Sohel, John lee ,Levi, and finally  me Howard. It took Miss Rapold weeks to learn our names. She kept on asking us until she got it.

In the end I like Unicycling the best out of all the groups because I'm learning something that I might never get another chance to do.

Triathlon

On Wednesday Room 19 went to do a Triathlon on the field. Everyone was excited !!!!  I thought it was going to be cool and it was.

As we walked to the field everyone was asking our Teacher Miss Tito “ Do we have to swim because I don’t have my togs” and she kept on  replying “ Yes swim in your P.E ( Physical Education ) gear.

The time came when we got our destination the field. There was a man named Brent and he explained the rule to us and what Triathlon means. The rules where :

  • Never ride your bike in Transition.
  • When your swimming always run right around the cones.

Room 12 came and joined us. The order went first rm 12 girls , then rm 12 boys , rm 19 girls, and then finally rm 19 boys. When it was rm 19 boys turn all of us were revved up. As we stood a the starting line in front of the water slide a man called Adrian Sprayed us with a hose.

GO!! Yelled the starter. Everyone dashed and slided on the slide four times before they could hop on a bike. When we were finished with the slide we each hopped on a bike and started to ride.

We did one lap each then started to run. All of the people cheered and cheered. I sprinted my hardest.

Harakeke ( Flax)

On Thursday Room 19 did an activity with Miss Tito. The activity was Platting Harakeke (Flax). We were Platting a Puti Puti (Flower) out of Flax. It was exciting!!!

So we marched on to the Oamaru Creek ,because we had to get some flax first. Before anyone could go and cut there flax Miss Tito our Teacher explained the rules to us , and the rules were

  • There a three peices of flax stuck together and you are not allowed to cut them or the plant will die.
  • Never cut harakeke at night  time because you might cut the wrong peice
  • Never cut harakeke  in the rain because the bit where you cut is where the gum is and if the rain touches it the whole plant dies.
  • Never step on Harakeke.
  • Never hit your friends with harakeke.
  • Always cut downwards when you when cut your flax

Miss Tito sent us out to cut our pieces. My partner was Sonny and we were good partners. I like being with him because he is cool.

Everyone had cut  their piece and it was ready to go we marched back to school. We got to school and started our plats. I liked it.

First  Miss Tito went over how to do it . Everyone listened carefully because they didn’t want to get anything wrong. We started.

I listened very good. At the end I got it right and some people got it wrong.

TuaKana Teina

Every Tuesday Room 19 goes to the Pt England library to do a reading program called TuaKana Teina (Big Brother Little Sister) with Room 9. We go there to give them support in reading, because they find it difficult. Sometimes they just want to run around and be silly or sit behave and listen to a story.

I like having TuaKana Teina session's because it’s fun. Some people don’t like it because they don’t like reading. The little kids a very quiet around the big kids because there shy.

We start reading with them after lunch witch is 2:00. Then we finish at 2:50 . When it’s time to go home everyone moans.

School Picnic

Last Friday at Pt England school we had a picnic at the Pt England Beach. Everyone was so excited that they were bragging how cool it was last year. Some people didn’t really want to go so they either stayed home or just came for the sake of it.

The day came and everyone was happy. Mr Burt talked to all of us and explained the rules. We were so excited that we weren’t even listening to him and most of the time we were fiddling. “Yes!” said my friends “it’s time to go.”

We got there and it didn’t take that long. Mr Burt called a little meeting and as soon as he was finished everyone scattered across the giant field. I played Rugby with some other boys of the school. The game was actually it was supposed to be Ripper rugby, but Mr Marsters said we could play rugby.

I stopped playing and then went to relax on the beach. As I rested I ate my lunch and talked to my friends. Watching the beautiful sky a kite blocked my view. So I got up and looked at who was flying it and it was Mr Barks. Soon it was time to go home.
